My computer requires a restart after a firefox upgrade, what did you do that requires a restart?
I have a dialog box stating that my Windows 7 workstation requires a restart due to a previous upgrade of firefox. Whatever did you do to my computer that would require a restart that I don't know about?

Many programs require a restart when you install it for the first time. Firefox did nothing that you would not want to happen. If you are worried about security I assure you that having an out dated browser is a vary large security thereat.
A restart is usually only required if files are in use and thus can't be updated (replaced) by newer versions.
It is possible that you have security software that is using or locking files.
On any Firefox upgrade in the past (and I've been using since version 2) and I am also an IT professional, has never required a restart. Usually a restart means that there is some sort of system file that has been changed or some service is either modified or added that I don't know about.
