most websites I visit are all black and white, no images load. There is some blue clickable hyperlinks.

Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings and that you allow pages to choose their colors in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"

You may also get that kind of display if you block stylesheets. Make sure that View > Page Style is not set to "No Style".

there is no "options" once you click "tools" on a mac. Typical... updated versions every week, and everything on web for "help" is older versions......

And going to vew > page style > no style.... actually makes it worse. some times it works correctly. And doing no style makes those some times not work correctly at all.

Anything to do with "view certificate" and making "exceptions" for websites? Lately I've been getting a lot of those when I'm online. And these are safe websites like yahoomail and google

Options are called Preferences on a Mac, and that item is in the Firefox menu. I did not recommend using "no style". Make sure that it is not the one selected.
