How to stay signed in on a website (eBay)? Selecting that option does not work.

When signing in on eBay, I always select the "Keep me signed in" option. However, I have to sign in again each time I access that website several times throughout the day. Is this an eBay problem or a Firefox problem? I do not see an option in Firefox Tools that appears to address this issue of allowing me to stay signed in to websites that I choose.

Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.

  • Create an allow cookie exception to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":

  • do not clear Cookies
  • do not clear Site Preferences

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

Clearing cookies will remove all specified (selected) cookies including cookies that have an allow exception and cookies from plugins.

I've the same problem with Yahoo. However ALL of my settings ARE proper for cookies, remember history, etc. I'm seriously starting to believe that this is a laptop issue, as I could be wrong, but I've never seen this sign in issue (yahoo) on any desktops, but have encountered and been unsuccessful at trying to repair it on a dozen different laptop models (Dell, Asus, Acer, Toshiba, Sony, etc) using Win 7, and a few with Linux Mint.
