Parts of Firefox 21.0 black out under Windows XP SP3

I upgraded to v. 21.0 and I noticed that at times (more frequently recently) parts of the browser interface just go blank. If I hover the mouse of the blank parts some of them will reappear but some won't. Refreshing the browser (closing it and opening it again) sometimes work and eliminates the blanks sometimes it doesn't. There seems to be a conflict with something running on my OS with this version of the browser.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hello kypriakos, you can also try to set in about:config the gfx.content.azure.enabled pref to false or if this didn't work set the gfx.direct2d.disabled pref to true and leave hardware acceleration otherwise enabled.

thank you

Hello all,

thanks very much for the feedback - it has solved the problem. Disabling the hardware acceleration option did the trick. So that we all learn something new, what is the technical explanation for the problem?

Thanks again! Demetris
