how to close last tab when restore last session setting is active?

more options

There are times, when I have several tabs open simultaniously, when I would like to turn off the computer, and would like to see those tabs next time when I start Firefox. However sometimes I would also like to be able to close the last tab, and with that 1) close Firefox 2) "finish the session" as in when I re-start Firefox, the default home page greets me, while the restore last session still active.

That future change is good to know, and bitter to acknowledge, but that was not what I was looking for. (Practically, I need something, that automaticaally click that, when available, and makes it unavailable, when I for example press Ctrl+W on the last tab.) I've just realized, that on my older laptop I made Facebook an app-tab, so I could close the last non-app-tab, and exit firefox, and the next time, the start page was there, with the Facebook tab as well. I also recall, that in pre-Firefox 4 (maybe) this was the default behaviour, right?

Also I was using this: https://addons.mozilla.org/hu/firefox/addon/session-manager/ but a new computer should come with a blank page, and also I forgot about that.

Probably what I really need, is when I start Firefox, always the start page will be the first tab seen.

Thanks anyway, and I take the anwsers as "not possible".

Edit: Actually the feature what I was looking for was available in the plugin that I've mentioned.

Hi jadaml, Diego is right, you can have the homepage set to homepage and click on the restore last session from there, however in the next version this will not be there anymore. If that article does not help, you can explore some of the session management add ons there are in the addons.mozilla.org site.
