When I click in the URL field in a new tab or window, firefox jumps my cursor to the google search bar in the firefox home page. How do I stop this?

When I click the URL box with my mouse, the cursor automatically jumps to the search bar in the firefox homepage. (I do not mean the one next to the URL box. I mean the one actually in the Firefox homepage).

The result is that I end up inadvertently doing a google search for a URL.

That is how it works with the built-in about:home page.
Other pages may do this as well.
