If a webpage is open already and i go to the address bar and type a phrase to google it , it shows me the search result in a new tab. NOT the tab i typed the phrase in. What I want to happen is for the youtube page that I was on (for example) to go and I want to see the search results for the phrase "How to use Helix Fossil" (for example) on the SAME page. I DONT want the firefox to create a new tab and show the results in that one.

How do I change this? I think this problem is to do with Firefox 27.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
