I downloaded Firefox. But it does not open, rather it opens a Google page called "sign in- Google Accts - Mozilla Firefox. Don't know why. How is this Firefox of mine seeking to go through a "Sign - Google Acct" and where is such an account?

Did you download your Firefox from https://mozilla.org/firefox/all/ or from somewhere else?

If the later, I suggest to uninstall it and get it from mozilla site directly.

This is just a page that wants you to sign in to a Google account.
If you have not downloaded Firefox from the official source, do NOT sign in. Instead uninstall Firefox and re-download it from the official site (link provided by alex_mayorga)

When Firefox opens are you able to navigate to another website?
