I am using multiple virtual desktops under Kubuntu. I am running Kubuntu 24.10 having just upgraded from Kubuntu 24.04. After the upgrade, when I click on email links in Thunderbird, a new tab is created in my Firefox window but the focus does not switch to the Firefox desktop and window as it has always done in the past. This is especially annoying since I run Thunderbird and Firefox in different virtual desktops. So, after clicking on a link, I then have to switch virtual desktops in order to see the link's webpage in Firefox.

I've done some testing and I suspect that this problem is specific to Firefox. That is, when I use Chrome instead of Firefox then the Thunderbird link works properly and changes the focus to the desktop and window with Chrome running as it should. I have tested this problem on my installation and on a fresh installation. In both cases, the focus does not switch to the desktop with Firefox when Firefox is set to the default browser. Likewise, in both cases, the focus switches properly to the desktop with Chrome when Chrome is set to the default browser.

My google searches indicated that, in the past, this type of issue has been related to xdg activation bugs or configuration issues under Wayland on Linux.

In other words, this looks like a Firefox bug in Kubuntu.

Does anybody know where I should seek support and file a bug report for this? With Mozilla or Kubuntu or Ubuntu?

Does anybody have any other ideas?

I work in a closed environment and we use Firefox for browsing our internal network. This network does not have any physical connection to the internet.

I'm trying to disable the initial tabs that come up for a new user/profile.

The first tab is the welcome screen, the second tab is https://www.mozilla.org/privacy/firefox

I went to about:config I set "browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone" to "ignore" That disabled the welcome screen.

Put I cannot find a setting that prevents or disables the second tab for https://www.mozilla.org/privacy/firefox

Ever since I upgraded my system to ubuntu v24.04 / firefox v131.0(64-bit) when I drag an image to save it on desktop or file manager, the file created is always named "Dropped Image.png", no matter what the source is on the web page.

Has anyone seen this before? Is is Mozilla setting? Or perhaps ubuntu....

When I want to fill out a survey that comes in my gmail account, I don't see my answers highlighted or even showing up. When I use EDGE and do the same survey, all answers are in color and plainly viewed. Do I have some setting screwed up? When I checked the box "email me when someone answers" below my check mark doesn't show up here either so I don't know if I'm even gonna get an answer. Please DO email me an answer. Thank You John

Hello. I have a problem. I use the website icloud.com , and more specifically, the "notes" application on it. There is a function that allows you to create a list from just a list, with fields to mark the completion. But instead of marking fields, I have black squares that represent png files. Everything is fine in other browsers. What should I do?

When I press ctrl+return (main enter key) on my keyboard (Standard 52 key US layout) on macOS Sequoia 15.0.1, the context menu pops up (with back, reload, select all, etc.) which interferes with the shortcuts of some of the sites I use. It does not occur when in other apps. Is there a way to disable this shortcut key? I have a context menu key on my keyboard, so it is unnecessary.

What happen is the following:

I went to my Wordpress Website I login to it (2FA authentication) Open a "Post" to edit it I wanted to change a picture So I delete the old picture and try to add new one but when the Menu open to give me access to the Picture Library Then The Cursor moved in lot of dirrection Getting unstable

Then This time with the cursor moving I got Process on Top Menu that get in high CPU Process impact in TOP : "ksoftirqd" But that's not often the case Sometimes CPU get High with other process

I have reported the issue to Wordpress, Kubio, Mageia Linux Os, Wpmudev

This is my first download using Firefox, a roughly 100 MB video file. On Chrome, these downloads take about 10 seconds at most, even with other tabs and applications open. This one took around 45 minutes.

It seems this problem has been fixed overnight.

Win11, FF 131.0.3

Twice with this FF version I have had a tab fail then a black screen that does not permit a swap to another app or a ctl-alt-delete. I need to hit the power button to hot reboot the PC.

I can't screen shot, which would be useless anyway.

I dunno what is causing this or what is being affected.

I have a brand new setup of ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS with Mozilla Firefox 131.0.3

If I log in to the normal version of ubuntu ( Wayland display server) , all is well.

If I log in to 'ubuntu on xorg' the keyboard does not work on firefox ( If type anywhere on firefox, nothing appears) . Works everywhere else.

I have tried launching firefox in safe mode, still no keyboard function. Also, if I turn on the accessible screen keyboard, that does not work with firefox either.

Any advice appreciated

I am using Firefox from two Debian desktops and an Android phone. I would like to sync opened tabs, but my two desktop devices are seen one by accounts.firefox.com. It shows only a phone and a single desktop device, whose name is switching between the names of the two desktop instances, according to which one of them has synced recently. Also the Android application sees only one of the two sets of tabs (switching between them), always from the PC that was used recently. I guess the problem is that I have copied all the dotfiles at the installation of the second PC. Can you suggest a quick solution that does not involve the deletion of all mozilla related dotfiles and reinstallation of the browser?

The screenshot shows the error message shown when trying to upload a file to a release on GitHub. File size and file format are supported, because I can do it with no issue on Chrome.

And I can't upload image files to attach to the comments, the comment box will show Uploading real quick then disappears like nothing ever happened.

Pinned tabs will show a green dot underneath logo when firefox thinks it's changed. it never does, never has. gmail, closedAI, claude, notion, doesn't matter. it thinks the website changed. annyoing and distracting.

how to stop this?

I have recently run into an issue with web page not loading correctly. over the last couple of weeks, after I sign on to my bank's web site, I get a screen with non-functioning buttons(see attached screenshot). I contacted the bank, and their instructions were to clear cookies and cache, close Firefox and re-open the browser, and this should clear up the problem; or, update the browser. my Firefox is the latest version 131.0.3. the issue still existed after performing these steps. I tried using MS Edge and all screens loaded correctly. Firefox is my browser of choice, and I have not had this issue previously. please respond with feedback, so I know how to move forward. thank you.
