links in an email don't open FF29.x properly (OS X)

I'm using FF29.0.1 under OS X Mavericks, with OS X "Mail" as my default email program. FF is also set as my default browser. With FF not running, if I click on a link in an email message, FF opens, but only to a blank page. If I leave FF open, and click on that email link again, that link will open in a new tab in FF, leaving the original tab blank. Or, if I have FF already open, and click on a link in an email, that link will open in a new FF tab.

Previously, with FF not running (all previous versions of FF), clicking on a link in an email would open FF and that link would open a FF tab properly. The second click on the email link has never been required.

Any explanation, or fix for this issue? BTW, this also happens with FF 29.0.1 running under OS X 10.7.5 Lion. If I uninstall FF29 and reinstall FF28, the issue is absent, reinstalling FF29 causes the issue to return.

You have to make Firefox your default browser on your computer.
Firefox Options > Advanced > General.

Did you read my post? "FF is also set as my default browser"

FF wouldn't open if it wasn't set as the default browser, would it? In fact, FF opens, just to a blank page, not an open page from that email link. This happens on two computers; one running OS X 10.9.2, the other running OS X 10.7.5, both using OS X Mail as the default email program.

Opps, Sorry ;-/

Open the settings of your e-mail program. It might not be sending the web page information to the browser. .

Your reading comprehension skills are just atrocious:

"if I click on a link in an email message, FF opens, but only to a blank page."

"if I have FF already open, and click on a link in an email, that link will open in a new FF tab."

" If I uninstall FF29 and reinstall FF28, the issue is absent, reinstalling FF29 causes the issue to return. "

This is simply not an issue with the OS X Mail program, made obvious by the above statements.

Do you have any experience in this area? Have you used FF for OS X? If so, does it work properly for you? Again, as stated, I can duplicate this issue on more than one system, and it's been isolated to FF29.x.
