I was notified that some accounts established prior to 12/2010 would no longer recognize passwords set at that time. Selecting the link for 'password reset' and supplying the current email address has not resulted in instructions being sent to such email address.

Password Reset messages usually go to the email address on record at the time you set up your service. If you have a new "current email address" which was never declared before the need to use it, you're probably showing up unknown to the system.
