I get popup error messages from Thunderbird. They appear in a separate window and disappear before I can read them. The error messages do not appear in the error console.

Additional information: Here is what one of the popup error messages looks like:

I was able to force this popup message & print-screen it. But other messages have more text than I can read in 2 seconds.

Did you look under Tools(or AppMenu)/Activity Manager? For the status bar, there is an add-on that displays the bar's message cache.
