After updating to firefox 31.0, the Ctrl+E shortcut opens the home page, rather than go to google.com. I find this quite annoying, and thus ask, what can I do to change it back to what it was earlier?

The Ctrl + E shortcut is now used to open the Panorama window (View > Tab Groups).

You can use Ctrl + K to go to the Google search bar and Ctrl + L to go to the location bar.

Did you move the Search Bar into the Customize Palette > Additional Tools & Features?

Sorry, I am not aware of how that can be changed back to what it was in Firefox 28.

Ctrl + E and Ctrl + K do the exact same thing for me, and Ctrl + L just highlights the address bar, which is easier done by just clicking it. I also haven't really touched the customize palette, when 29.0 was released I just installed Classic Theme Restorer.

After changing my homepage to google.com, doing Ctrl + E still redirects me to the mozilla start page.

Normally the Ctrl+E shortcut key will set focus to the search bar on the Navigation Toolbar.

When the search bar isn't positioned on the Navigation Toolbar and also not in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list or otherwise hidden then current Firefox releases open the about:home page instead of the web page of the default search engine.
