This is just like https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/993253?esab=a&as=aaq But the solution that person chose didn't work for me.

1. Here's a picture of my sync options: http://i61.tinypic.com/qqtovo.png 2. Proof my Firefox is already up to date: http://i58.tinypic.com/2432ge1.png 3. Proof I'm already registered for the current version of sync (or that it's not clear how to do so): http://i60.tinypic.com/293ufkk.png 4. I looked at https://wiki.mozilla.org/Identity/Firefox-Accounts, but it didn't solve my problem.

What can I do?

I managed to figure this out awhile back thanks in part to cor-el (but his explanation was a bit confusing). It turns out Durando is right - Firefox isn't supported by iOS or vice versa. Foxbrowser uses an old protocol that Sync doesn't use anymore.

To add another device that's running the current version of Firefox (so update if it isn't), you need only sign in to Sync.

You can't add a device that isn't running Firefox, like iOS apps, unless it also works with the current version of Sync (which only requires signing in). At this time, I don't know of any iOS apps that do.

On another note, how did anyone find this? I can't even find it when I search for it, and only got here with a small link at the bottom of my subscription email (other buttons brought me to an error page).

The currently used new Sync version uses the email address and a password to connect to a specific Sync account and no longer allows to pair a device. You also no longer need to supply a Sync key as that key is transparently derived from the password of the account, so changing the Sync password will invalidate data stored on the server.

If you still use an old Sync account on some devices then it is not possible to connect to the old account with the current release or add a new account via pairing, but you can still connect by supplying the name and password and sync key if you have an older Firefox version. All connected devices need to run a current Firefox release that supports the new Sync version.

I am baffled. I have Foxbrowser on my iPhone 5S and Firefox 32.0.1 on my MacBook Air. But now I get it - Firefox is not supported by iOS or vice versa!
