I have an issue with Firefox 32 recent update. Version 27 to 29 never had this odd problem with You Tube before. I think it's an intermittent problem because sometimes You Tube would load fine. Then I would click on a next video, the page would load with a lot of pictures missing in the preview column. Even the comment section would be stuck "loading..." and the video would sometimes play. I did notice when You Tube hangups on loading the page. The status bar would be connecting to s.ytimg.com. Which would cause a 15 or 30 second delay before the video starts. I don't know if it's an ad server Google or You Tube is using?

I did remove Fire Fox and reinstalled it with a new profile. That did the trick for awhile then this problem came back. I don't know what to do.

I've disabled OpenH264 plugin and it helped me. Although this resolution is apparently specific to my setup since I use Firefox 33 beta with the same profile occasionally.

Or you could try switching Youtube to the default Flash player on http://www.youtube.com/html5 or use some addon/userscript that forces the Flash player, e.g. YouTube Center
