I just updated Firefox to version 33, but after that it keeps crashing at startup. I've tried uninstalling and installing again, but the same happens. I've also tried the about:crashes, but it crashes when I click on the bp link. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I'm using Mac OS X Yosemite

If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that have a "bp-" prefix:

  • bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

You can find the Report ID of recent crash reports on the "Help > Troubleshooting Information" page (about:support).

  • Click the "All Crash Reports" button on this page to open the about:crashes page and see all crash reports.

If necessary then you can open about: pages via the location/address bar.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.

Your crash report flagged the Facebook program. Disable it for now.

If there is still a problem;

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;

Type about:preferences<Enter> in the address bar

Select Advanced > General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?

Then restart.

Firefox crashes when I click on add-ons in the menu bar, so I can't turn them off (I also can't remember having installed any facebook or anti-virus add-ons at all, so that's a bit strange...)

I tried starting in Safe Mode, but every time I type in about:preferences and hit enter, it crashes, so I can't go any further.
