Firefox just automatically upgraded to 34.0.5 not sure what I had before but I want to go back to whatever version came before this. I hate what happended to my search box. The only reason I haven't switchd completely to Chrome was the ease of changing to a different search option. I could just click the drop down in the search box and click the seardh option I wanted. Now a new window opens where I have to click on another drop down menu to get to my search options. This sucks! I want to revert to the previous version but don't know if it's possible. Any help would be great!

You can revert to the older Search Bar scheme like this.

Open up about:config (typed in the Location Bar) Right-click and toggle this preference to false

browser.search.showOneOffButtons

Then restart Firefox.

Hi GrannyM,

Since I upgraded to 34.0.5 I have not been able to use Netflix. Opens to a black screen.

This is on a macbookpro 10.6.8.

Can I go back to previous Firefox version which worked perfectly?

Thanks much, Linda

That can be this problem with Silverlight.

How about an answer to the original question? HOW DO YOU FIND/INSTALL A PREVIOUS VERSION OF FIREFOX?!

I am light years beyond frustrated with all of the issues with 34.0.5. Every single time I manage to get one sorted out, it either recurs or another crops up. I'm sick of trying to make everything work properly and I'm sick of endless lists of 'solutions' that don't solve the problems.

I have never had a single problem with this browser until the 30s rolled out. Firefox has sucked ever since. I want an older version. Period.

The older search bar scheme is not the issue. HOW CAN I GO BACK TO THE PREVIOUS FIREFOX? That is what these people are asking. What is the answer?

Going back to an older Firefox version is not recommended because such version have known and disclosed cookie vulnerabilities. You will have to get used to hoe the current release looks and works and use available extensions to re-add lost features or make changes to the appearance.
