I have updated the VLC media player about a dozen times in the last week or so, but it still keeps failing to work, with a Firefox message coming up saying "VLC Web PluginVLC media player Web Plugin 2.1.3 vulnerable 2.1.3.0 Update Now". All other plugins seem fine now, Firefox recently said that quite a few of them recently needed to be updated, and all the others have worked. Almost every website I visit comes up with a message saying that the plugin is out of date and has been blocked and I think that maybe I should simply abandon Firefox and use a different browser.

Yes, it would be a good idea to remove that VLC program.

An alternative to dumping Firefox is using a different media player.

Thank you, I think I have done that. After a bit of a struggle I have managed to install Windows Media Player in the plugin dialogue area. I'm surprised I have to actually download it and then go through a process involving a warning that I will void my warranty if I enter a particular control screen, but after half an hour or so I think it is done. It then took me another 10 minutes to work out how to get back into this forum page, maybe In should just stick to Word and Photoshop! Would it be a good plan to now remove VLC from my program files? Still, I will mark it as solved and come back if I have further similar problems. Cheers
