I use Firefox 34 on my Windows 8.1.

On my home network with a Dlink Router dir-655 then Firefox starts immediately with no delay and I have no issues. On some other wifi connections* I have noticed that Firefox take ~60 seconds to start, every time I start the browser. Once it has started I have no issues browsing. When I experience the issue I tried to start in safe mode, then FF starts immediately. I also tried to get rid of plug ins, add-ons, disable antivirus etc....but only safe mode makes the browser start faster (normal start speed)

What can be the issue? What in a network connection can cause FF to start slower?

I have no clue where to look anymore.

  • For instance, I tried to use my Samsung Android phone as wifi hotspot and then I get the issue. But if connect to this wifi hotspot on my Windows 7 machine I have no issues at all
