A usually have a lot of tabs open and I want to save memory (and increase speed). So are the tab pages of a non-active group in active memory or are they in hibernate-like state?

Hi nunki, first I have to say that this is a very good question. To get you an answer I did have to do a lot of research. For a basic answer, yes. It does decrease memory use a little. According to Ghacks it will decrease memory usage but you can do better. You can see a article that they have on just one of many add-ons to reduce memory use from tabs here .

I hope that helps. If you need any more information please ask.
