I've had Firefox forever. But I hate Bing. I've uninstalled firefox 3 times but Bing installs along with it. If I can't get rid of Bing, then Firefox has to go

There is no trace of Bing in any program or default. Is Firefox loading it onto my computer? How can I keep Firefox but get rid of the Bing?

I removed the Bing toolbar immediately, and I removed it as a default search engine. But it stayed as the default for when a tab is opened. I uninstalled Firefox but Bing came with Firefox every time. Has Firefox partnered with Bing in a way that Bing is part of the package? I hate Bing and will remove Firefox if it includes Bing

If you are getting Bing when you click on new tab try this: Type about:config into the address bar, press Enter, accept the warning, scroll down to browser.newtab.url and make sure 'Value' is set to about:newtab (right click to change it if necessary).

Also, if you haven't already, please run the malware removal programs in my original answer.

The only thing Bing related that Firefox comes with is it is one of the search engines that is listed in Search Bar for a long time.

Firefox any version for any OS from mozilla.org does not come with any toolbars.

It is not the default search engine as for example the en-US Firefox has had Yahoo as default instead of Google since Fx 34.0.

Well then, I guess Bing has acted like a virus and attached itself to Firefox because whenever I uninstall Firefox- Bing is gone. When I re-install Firefox, Bing reappears. I hate Bing enough that I'm going to have to get rid of Firefox. Too bad you couldn't fix the problem because it's on your end, not mine

It is not on my end nor is it on Mozilla's end . The problem is on your end rather.

Just because you see it in Firefox does not mean Firefox from mozilla.org/firefox/all comes with it.

Denial is a river but it doesn't do anything to get Bing unattached to Firefox/Mozzilla and off my computer :(

But you do at least understand that this does not come with Firefox from mozilla.org right?

Also it may not be obvious to everybody at first, those with just Moderator tag only (without Administrator tag also) are almost all users that have been entrusted with mod abilities. In other words I do not work for Mozilla.

Scribe -- Thank you for this useful about:newtab tip - IT WORKED. Getting rid of this last vestige of BING has been like getting rid of bedbugs! I have Malware Bytes Anti-Malware installed and it does not find this vile parameter. I wish there was a standard Firefox control option to change it without resorting to digging in the CONFIG data.

Thank you once again for saving me from this annoying frustration.
