Have installed a fresh copy of firefox 38.0.5 to replace a beta version on a surface pro 3 with win 8.1. When I look at the plugins, Shockware Flash 17.0.0.188 is not there. When I look at the list of available plugins, Shockwave Flash isn't there either. I'm guessing that the debris from the uninstalled beta version is somehow blocking it. I do need this plugin. Some things that I use won't work without it. Is there a way to install it without going through the plugin path?

As far as I know, the latest version of FF does not need Adobe Flash to be installed. I deleted all Adobe flash plug-ins - both Flash Player and Shockwave. I did it because I was sick of the constant 'flash player crashed' popup from FF browser. It is now running clean and bug-free.
