My homepage has been hijacked (by yahoo), and I've tried everything else, please help.
I do not recall what I had been doing when this problem started, as it's been here for a few months, at least.
Whenever I exit and re-open Firefox, it always goes to a yahoo search page that looks similar to Google's. I tried changing it in the options area. I looked through topics/questions here and tried some of the solutions offered. Still this page appears when I open Firefox. The address in the homepage area says: http://services.freshy.com/general/newhometab.php?hometab=home&partner=11335&guid={955774EA-AAB4-4975-8D6C-716F87E67D7A}&i=
Please help...?

hello, that may be caused by adware/malware that is active on your system. so please perform all these steps:
- reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
- afterwards go to the firefox menu ≡ > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
- finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to make sure that adware isn't present in other places of your system as well.

Thank you, so very much. I had not known of this operation before. -^_^- I had already been running a virus scan while I had been trying to post this. The only add-on that I used was "adblock plus", though Norton likes to keep it's toolbar installed, I don't use it. I don't keep any passwords saved, except in my own head. Is "Adblock plus" known to cause this issue? 0.0
