I guess QuickTime is installed by default on your Mac.

Have a look at this support article for information: Use the QuickTime plugin to play audio and video.

Thank you for reply. I'm using PC and mac and i have same problem just with firefox on both systems. Thing is that i have lots those files and user have to access them online using any browser. Maybe plugin is an issue for this problem, but why other browsers can play both files?

Mozilla has as principle to let users choosing what they want in Firefox. By default, other browsers include more features, with Firefox you need to install add-ons for the same thing.

An other way to play WAVE files is to use the VLC Web plugin. VLC media player is widely used, and when you install it, its plugin is automatically added to Firefox (to check, type about:addons in the address bar, press Enter, select Plugins panel and find VLC Web Plugin).

When you try to play a WAVE file, the button Activate VLC Web is displayed, looks like that:

I try as you said, but it does not work. It is still same situation as it was...

If your .wav files are on a public server, it is easy: just send us the direct link.

There is something confusing in your question: a WAV file generally contains uncompressed PCM-encoded audio. Your first file says it is PCM. But your second file says it is MPEG-encoded audio, so Firefox probably believes it is not valid as a WAV file. What if you rename it with a .mp3 extension instead?

This test page is useful to validate which formats your Firefox can play natively: http://hpr.dogphilosophy.net/test/

they are not on public server yet :(

Firefox won't play files if the MIME-type is missing or incorrect, unlike other browsers that just go by "wav" and assume the page authors intent or assume that it is in fact a "wav" file. That is biggest problem that we see when "it works in other browsers, but not in Firefox".

An incomplete "local" page sitting on your hard drive isn't the correct way to test for issues such as this.

What I did is as jscher2000 suggested changed files extensions to mp3 formats even I put .raw extension and its play on chrome and safari, but not on the firefox. jscher2000 - yes one file have PCM and another MPEG.

In fact files are .wav

If you want the benefits of MPEG compression -- WAV audio tends to be enormous and wasteful of bandwidth -- then you may need to recode the files to ensure they are MP3. If this is not just an error in the file extension, it might not be possible to fix the files just by renaming.

What code do you use to play those files?

Is that with an <audio> tag or with an object or embed?

more options

Yes it is with an <audio> tag.

Thing is that company made records and compressed to wav files, but in fact they made two different types of wav files. So, I understand there is no issue to make those files play on all browsers... it is interesting fact that firefox not understand it..
