Why is Firefox not displaying Hebrew in the address bar and on tabs?

Firefox stopped showing Hebrew in the address bar, on tabs, and in some search boxes. If I do a search, in Hebrew, using the address bar or search bar, nothing displays as I type, but it will recognize the value of what I'm typing and it will display with the correct results. It used to work on my computer and it works on another Mac with Firefox. On websites, the Hebrew content appears fine.

I tried using Firefox in Safe Mode and I was still getting the same problem. I have the latest version of Firefox on both computers.

That could be a problem with the font that Firefox uses for the location/address bar.

Does this only happen with Hebrew?

You can check for corrupted and duplicate fonts and other font issues:

I'm not sure if there is an easy way to check what font Firefox is using for part in the user interface as you can't use the Inspector. You could do that with the DOM Inspector if you are familiar with this extension.

If you can reproduce this on web pages as well then you can check what font is used via Inspect Element in the right-click context menu.

English and Greek works, but I found that Arabic and Persian encountered the same problems as Hebrew. I'm thinking it may have something to do with right to left languages and some sort of bug involving them. I have no idea where that bug is occurring though.

Please let me know if you find a fix to this issue. I'm experiencing it as well.

Thanks!

What ended up fixing my problem was installing "Theme Font & Size Changer" add-on, then changing the font in the Firefox searchbox through the add-on.
