Hi, I'll try to describe my problem(s) as detailed as possible. One fine day a pop-up window appeared recommending the installation of McAfee. So I did. I am not quite sure, but I think, that my problems with mozilla then began. Other pop-up windows appeared (busy add-ons + busy plugins). As I learned from Google now, McAfee is a diagnostic tool for my PC security. So I finally decided to deinstall it, as Kaspersky Anti-Virus is already installed on my PC (always using the current version). But my problems still remain, especially when using eBay. I suppose, it is not possible to insert here some screenshots of my problems to see them at a glance. So here in writing:

Actualization of my plugins: - OpenH264-Videocodec available - status setting: always activating - Primetime Content Decryption Module made - status setting: always activating - Shockwave Flash 18.0 r0 - status setting: always activating - Adobe Acrobat - status setting: always questioning, whether it shall be activated - Microsoft Office 2010 authorization plugin - same status setting - Microsoft Office 2010 plugin to open and edit files - same status setting - VLC Web Plugin2.0.0-rc - informing that it causes already known security problems and that it shall be updated. So I tried to update, but on the next level there appeared the message, that it was blocked. The same goes for some add-on extensions: - module for blocking dangerous websites could not be verified for application in Firefox and was therefore deactivated - module for checking the link could not be verified for application in Firefox and was therefore deactivated, too. - and finally the virtual keyboard could not be verified for application in Firefox and was also deactivated.

I tried to fix the problems my own by following some suggested instructions, but I was always routed to another link or further explanation and so on. The problem is, my PC knowledge is very very poor and English is not my mother tongue. So SIMPLE EXPLANATIONS, step after step, understandable and comprehensible for an amateur like me would be really great. Is there anybody who can help me? Many, many thanks in advance for all your help and support.

You can post screenshots in this forum.

See this support article. How do I create a screenshot of my problem? It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.

Then use the Browse .... button below the Post a Reply text box to upload the screenshot.

Great job - very good, clear, helpful and useful explanations :) Many thanks.

I'll try to create a screenshot - I think I am able to make it.

By the way, before getting in touch with your volunteer support, I googled and followed the instructions/recommendations and REFRESHED Firefox yesterday in order to solve or at least to isolate the problem. As second step, today I started a Windows 7 update (which is still running, already lasting 4 hours and not yet finished). Do you think, this will help to fix or reduce my problems?
