I'm considering Tbird use to store my Yahoo mail on my hard drive but don't see specifics on where mail will reside (docs in folders?) and can I edit the data?

I want to free myself from the time consuming cut/paste exercise to save mail data from Yahoo to Word docs on my hard drive. I need to retain and work the message data in workable format. What does Tbird do with Yahoo mail attachments such as documents and pictures?

In your Thunderbird profile folder. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Thunderbird

Thunderbird will do nothing. The questions is what you want to do with attachments. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-use-attachments#w_receiving-attachments
