When on the JohnLewis website I add items to the basket but can not view basket or check out?

I have purchased on JohnLewis.com for years but, recently, I add things to basket and then can not view basket or checkout. I just get message waiting for Johnlewis etc. I can proceed OK on Internet Explorer on the same PC but that is so slow.
