On my college Web page when I try to upload assignments via Firefox the screen "grays out" and the Web page locks up when I click the add file button. So in troubleshooting this issue I refreshed Firefox which didn't fix the issue. Then I tried Firefox in safe mode and the uploads worked normally (no gray out and no Web page lock up). I ended up figuring out that the problem went away when I disabled the Kaspersky Password manager(KPM) plug-in, however with the same password manager, on the same school Web site works fine in Chrome. Chrome IS NOT my go to browser, Firefox IS, so I want to get the problem fixed so that I can use Firefox and Kaspersky password manager to upload files on my school website. If actual problem was Kaspersky Password manager itself, then uploads shouldn't work with Chrome as I have KPM installed on Chrome as well. If the problem was the school Web site then it shouldn't work with Chrome, but it does. So I was hoping someone might have a fix for this. Maybe there is a compatibility issue between FF and KPM. Any suggestions would be appreciated (besides "just use Chrome").

Here is a photo of what I am talking about in my question.

So normally, when that dark "mask" layer is placed over the page, I assume something appears in front of it.

Since I don't use the Kaspersky software, I don't know how that is connected to this. I would think once you're into the site, that software would just sit quietly in the background. ??

Looking at some Firefox things:

(1) If you click the plugin notification icon in the address bar (looks like a small, dark gray Lego block), does it show that the plugin(s) the page wants to use are allowed?

(2) Could you make an exception for the site in Adblock Plus, if you haven't already tried that?

If that doesn't help, hmm, maybe ask Kaspersky what's going on?

When I click the Lego it shows KPM is allowed.

I have tried exceptions for that page in Adblock Plus and with the pop-up blocker as well as for third party cookies. None worked.

I clicked the Lego and blocked KPM in FF and it works normally on that page, but like I said KPM works on that page in Chrome.

So I guess what I will do is block KPM when I want to do file uploads and then unblock it after the file upload is complete. At least until I can find a fix.

I have submitted this same question to Kaspersky support, but have not received anything as of yet.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Oh, and nothing pops up in front of the "gray". A pop up comes up when I hit add, but it is gray and inaccessible.

When I say pop up I mean the window that allows me to browse for a file to upload.
