Why did Mozilla break No Squint?

What has changed in the Addon structure for Mozilla and Firefox?

Why was it necessary to break this addon? The author claims it is too much trouble to keep up with the changes in Mozilla and Firefox, so has Mozilla changed that is so important that y'all must ruin my user experience?

I don't get it: every week or so Mozilla breaks another addon that has made Firefox a good product: what is the goal? Is forcing users to concentrate on the underlying unicorns and whatevers more important than allowing them to use the WWW part of the internet in a manner of their choice? It's starting to look evil, especially because I, and most others, don't understand the need nor motivations behind breaking something that seems to work just fine. Seriously, is it Mozilla's intention that I squint? Instead of just leaving me (and many others) just hanging, why not take on a little bit of responsibility and fix the browser so the features are incorporated into it, either by default or possibly using an 'addon' as promised to users?

Think about it, see if you can spot the errors on your part, right? So what addon fills the roles that No Squint filled? Why did Mozilla break it? What advantage do we have now that it is broken and it's harder to look at a variety of web pages, some with font too small, some with font too big, some with light grey font, some with red font on nearly red background; what does Firefox do better now that it's a big, big PIA to look at websites that I had fixed for myself up until yesterday?

Seriously, are there Microsoft employee working on the code now, trying to find ways to make the computer unusable due to updated, sucky interfaces? Perhaps you could make all Mozilla products use white fonts on very light grey backgrounds and appear upside down in Russian? Wouldn't that be funny? Is it obvious by my remarks that I am not a programmer?

But really, what next in this apparently embarrassing boondoggle?

You are running a beta version. Do you want to download the current and get No-Squint back?

See if NoSquint Plus works in the Firefox 47 Beta version. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nosquint-plus/

NoSquint has not been maintained by the extension author since April 2013. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/versions/

There is the https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint-plus/

Also note not every Extension author supports Beta channel builds or especially Aurora and Nightly channel builds and only Release.
