May 31st in the evening my Thunderbird stopped working. When I place the mouse over the Thunderbird icon at the bottom of the screen, I can see a microscopic view of part of a page, but it will not come up.

This is one of those rare instances where actually removing and reinstalling Thunderbird might be useful.

Your data is stored separately from the Thunderbird program and should not be affected.

But first can you run your PC in Windows' Safe Mode and see if this changes things? We have found there are some interesting and unintended relationships between Thunderbird and some Windows gimmicks features.
