I don't immediately read all my email at once. I attempt to highlight some of them and move them into other folders, to look into further later. Sometimes this works, but sometimes the email opens as soon as I highlight it. Then if I attempt to close the email, it closes thunderbird instead, and I have to reopen thunderbird, sometimes to repeat the whole mess. Usually by the third time it works. I can simply delete the opened email, but then the next email automatically comes up. This is not my preference for how I deal with email. I want to be able to pick and choose what I highlight and move for later reading, what I intently open first, and want to be able to close an open email without having it close down thunderbird. Help!

as opening is a double click, I guess your repeat on your mouse is set to fast in the control panel.
