Is there any plan for the Thunderbird development team to build GPG encryption installation and set up into the TB default install process?
Hello, in light of recent political state surveillance policy being rolled out, Is there any plan for the Thunderbird development team to build GPG encryption installation and set up into the TB default install process? i.e., as part of the default TB install process install GPG , create private and public keys and attach public key to outgoing emails with a link to installing TB?

Currently there is no new development happening with Thunderbird. Just bug fixes. This is because Mozilla can't make money from Thunderbird, so is not putting resources into it.

There are hopes for the future of Thunderbird, but they are dependent on finding a new home other than Mozilla.
