Games on Facebook says I need adobe flash, I downloaded and then have 2. -- then it constantly crashes
All was well, until I updated Firefox yesterday. I like to play games on FB, and I would get that error to "stop plugin or continue". I stopped it, and we were good for awhile. I couldn't have 2 tabs open, because it would crash. I could have many open in the past. This morning, I couldn't even play. It would just get hung up for about 45 sec. , much longer than yesterday. I couldn't do anything until I got the message again. I uninstalled the shockwave, and downloaded it again. I ended up with 2 of them. This happened when I had my old computer during a previous update of Firefox. I just lived with it. However, again, this time, it's taking longer for the error message to appear, and when I hit the "stop plugin" button, it just crashes, and I can't play at all. I can't have more than one tab open either. PLEASE HELP !!!

Let's try this first,
Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.

Did you manage to download and save the Flash installer to your desktop?
You can download the latest Flash player for Firefox on this page:
When you have done this then you can close Firefox and start the installation of the Flash plugin with a double-click on the desktop shortcut.
Well, now I'm not sure if it's Flash or Firefox that's crashing. I'm pretty sure it's Flash. Without it installed, I can do just about anything. When I'm going from the AOL.com home page then to read my mail, I get a line under my bar that says " A web page is slowing down your browser. What would you like to do? Stop it? Wait?". After I hit Stop it, I can proceed. Then it will say that Adobe Flash Player plug in has crashed. Since I end up having 2 Flash's, I can cancel 1 out of the task manager and it will be "okay" some of the times. However, I don't want to keep having to do that.
Are those two Flash plugins the same version.
Just to be sure: it is quite normal to see two Flash player instances in the Windows Task Manager. This is the consequence of running Flash in a protected mode sandbox environment.
I have tried all of the above suggestions. I was able to download to my desktop and run the install from there.
This morning, it worked great (for whatever reason!). As the day went on, the same thing was happening. I'm back to square one. Should I disable the flash protected mode? Revert back to the previous firefox version? That's when all was well. ? I'm pretty much at a loss. Thanks for all the help !

If you still want to downgrade, look under; I still want to downgrade. Click the Directory of other versions and languages link. Look for the directory of the version that you want. But, remember that old versions may have security issues.

So you mean that a website suddenly isn't able to detect the Shockwave Flash plugin plugin?
Does the Flash plugin still show on the about:plugins page?
You can also type navigator.plugins in the command line in the Web Console.
