I am trying to move inactive mail lists to a new address book that is located in my one big address book but I can't figure it out.

I have several old mail lists that I do not want to delete but keep in an address book called "Old Mail Lists" but I don't know how to move them into this new address book that is located until my main address book.

A Mailing List is a collection of Contacts taken from its parent address book. So if you have a Mailing List in Personal Address Book, it can only hold Contacts taken from Personal Address Book. You can't move a Mailing List from Personal Address Book to your Old Mail Lists address book without also moving all the Contacts it contains along with it.

(Well, that's not quite true; you can add a new Contact directly to a Mailing List, but Thunderbird will generate a new Contact entry in the List's parent address book. Doing this is likely to lead to duplication of Contacts. Moving a Mailing List to Old Mail Lists will result in corresponding Contacts being generated in Old Mail Lists.)

I can't think of any elegant way to do what you want to do. I think you'll have to move both Contacts and Mailing Lists, which will mean doing a lot of tedious cross-checking.
