Dear FireFox Support-Team,

I desperately need your help! 3 days ago Firefox has crashed during a session and has not worked since then:

Crash-ID: bp-6d64c5db-9243-4337-a02b-4df8f1170623

He starts and crashes when loading the start page! I have received the following error message:

"Your profile "Firefox" can not be accessed. It may not exist or is not accessible"

The error message I have also inserted in the "Mozilla Crash Reporter" as a comment! Today I created on my PC a 2. user account and here works FireFox (without profil data)... I have saved all my access data only in this profile of FireFox, therefore I am urgently dependent on this profile! But I do not know what profiles I should secure, because there are 2 profiles and at 2 different places:

On this place (Local) is 1 profil: C:\Users\Danni\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\rcjeh7nl.default-1371156587047 - on image (AS..._001)

and here (Roaming) are 2 profils: C:\Users\Danni\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\7dt3la6q.default - on image (AS..._002) C:\Users\Danni\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\rcjeh7nl.default-1371156587047 - on image (AS..._003)

Sorry my English is not the best but I hope you can help me! (translated with google translate)

Hi Dani, I suggest going in and saving a copy of both of them to a safe place so when working with you there is a safe copy since means so much to you. I would also like you to be aware that it is possible that the file has become corrupted and it may not be possible to use it again.

Get that done and come back and post that you have done so please.

Firefox uses two locations for the Firefox profile folder.

Location used for the main profile in "AppData\Roaming" that keeps your personal data.

  • C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\

Location used for the disk cache and other temporary files in "AppData\Local".

  • C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\

Only your personal data in "AppData\Roaming" is important. There you find your bookmarks and saved passwords.

This is likely a problem with the profiles.ini file that seems to point to a profile folder that no longer exists.

The time stamp in the random folder name rcjeh7nl.default-1371156587047 refers to the time that this profile got created.

  • 1371156587047 means June 13, 2013

This could mean that somehow a very old profile got restored or that you really used this profile all the time or maybe your computer time has been off.

You can use the Profile Manager to create a new profile.
