i used to have about 10~20 tabs and surfing the net while watching youtube playing games and listening the music. but i never had this issue before unless i surfing like very long time,

however i think after the newest firefox update, im having the kind of freezing and delaying problems. it happens earliy, like not even using the browser for 1 minute. it was the record and most likely 5~10 minutes. so i cheked my cpu and memory on task manager, it uses more spu and memory ( i guess im not quiet sure about this cpu and memory issue) but the memory still have more than 40%, the browser is freezing.

when i tried to fix the problem via using turning on the hardware acceleration option in adobe flash player, the message says will you open this player it might slow down your firefox browser or something like this which i never had before.

even right now typing this question, the words typed like 5 or more at once, i cant see it typed each letter when i pressing the keys.

little help here please

Hi, try reducing the number of multiprocesses: Go to Options > General - Performance, then deselect 'Use recommended performance settings' and change 'Content process limit' to a smaller number - try 1. See - Firefox's performance settings, and Startup, home page, tabs, and download settings.

If that doesn't help, try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:

  • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click Help Help-29 and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
  • On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

Note: If it's OK in Safe Mode and you have AdblockPlus, try disabling it first. An alternative is https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem. Thank you!
