hi, i've always used xMarks to synchronize bookmarks. it has always worked, but now bookmarks dividers don't appear anymore in my tab even if they are present on server. bookmarks are synchronized, but not dividers. they have disappeared or they are all the bottom in the folder. if i force the download from server (where they are OK) to browser nothing changes. both in Firefox 55 and 56.

any advice? thanks!

Hi  !

When you scroll down to the Reviews under 'About this add-on', you'll see that the extension needs to be fixed by the developer(s) :

Maybe you'd like to contact them about it :

I think you mean extensions (add-ons) and not plugins ...... It's the other way around : extensions (add-ons) that have not been migrated to Webextensions by the developers, will not be compatible with Firefox 57+

good choice?

Move to Firefox Sync  ? If that extensions won't be fixed : definately a good choice  !

I've had difficulty with Firefox/Xmarks--both on my work computer and my home laptop--since early November. I've been in contact with Xmarks for more than a week. The several proposed solutions have not worked. (You can contact them without being a Premium Member (I'm not), it just takes 2-3 days for them to respond.) Shortcuts that should not show at home are showing as grayed out, pushing the shortcuts I want to see off the bar. My Bookmark folders are gone. I would hope that Firefox Mozilla would step up to help resolve this problem as this is moving beyond an inconvenience.

I doubt if those folders are actually missing in Firefox, just that you are seeing them where you are looking. You probably could see them in the Bookmarks Sidebar, if you looked there ...

The toolbar button was changed for Firefox 57 and now only shows a very limited number of bookmarks and only one folder. But that can be changed like this:

  • Click on the 57 library icon library icon and go to bookmarks > bookmarking tools > add bookmarks menu to the toolbar.
  • Then you click the Bookmark Menu icon (star on tray) icon that's newly appearing on the toolbar, you'll get to the same bookmarks menu like in earlier versions...
  • Do you now see the bookmark folders that you thought were missing?

Yes, thank you. I now see the Bookmarks. Only the shortcuts issue remains.
