Every time when I click the plus button right beside my opening tabs, I will be redirected to http://offlintab.firefoxchina.cn/ which is a quite ugly page. Can I disable this? I just want to use about:newtab. By the way, when I type about:newtab in address bar, I can visit that page.

What do you think about disabling this extension: Firefox Homepage?

You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. If in doubt, disable.

Any improvement?

Please do this ASAP https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware Use more than 1 scanner as each scans with diff tech. Save the Report. Google each one before deletion as do not want to delete something you need. If need help : https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/9573-im-infected-what-do-i-do-now/ Post in 1 forum only and wait.

While I don't think it is caused by any malware, since I am redirected to a site seems related to mozilla. I guess that is done by firefox itself. Maybe the malware is a part of China version firefox : ( The new tab override addon is great, but I just want to use default about:newtab. I can't do this through the addon

Yes we know. And you need to check for malware. That should not be happening. Mozilla does not redirect people to China.
