I have Firefox and Chrome open to the exact same page. Chrome uses 38MB and Firefox is using 165MB and keeps climbing, Why?

Firefox has been eating up memory for quite some time. With the new release it's actually worse. I was hoping there would be a fix, but no. It's worse when I try to access my email through yahoo. The memory usage climbs to 1,200MB.

You can do the following:

  • Ensure Windows is up to date. Install the Fall creators update, and any other updates.
  • Ensure you have the latest graphics driver installed
  • Download an run www.malwarebytes.org

Also note, your computer has RAM to be used. Firefox uses more RAM now than it used to so that it can be faster. The only time this will be a problem is if Firefox is using too much RAM and not releasing it for other programs to use. If your have free RAM, then it's perfectly ok for Firefox to use it to be faster.
