When I import data from another browser, bookmarks are not imported in proper folders.

Same happens if I import from html.

Just to clarify, I tried two different approaches.

1. From Firefox, followed the instructions to "Import from Chrome" 2a. From Chrome, exported to HTML 2b. From Firefox, followed instructions to "import from HTML"

Both approaches bring in lots of bookmarks, but nothing organized in the proper folders.

When you use this import feature then those bookmarks are normally located in a specific "Import from <browser>" folder. I don't remember if this folder in in the Bookmarks Menu folder or in the Bookmarks Toolbar folder. You will have to rearrange the bookmarks yourself (Cut & Paste) if you want them to appear in other folders.

Thank you cor-el. I do appreciate the input and can see where this can work. I am hoping for a more, economical/efficient, approach. I have perhaps thousands of bookmarks that I have accumulated over the years. I would hate to have to do this by folder/sub-folder/sub-sub-folder.

Try to export the bookmarks in the other browser to an HTML file and import this file in Firefox to see if that works better.

  • Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup

Please refer to my original post. That was my step 2a and 2b. Good advice, but I already tried that.

I repeated this whole procedure two times with the same results each time.
