Good day, I encountered the problem of slow work of Thunderbird on one of the client computers. The problem is that the client has a very large volume of mail and thunderbird because of this slows down. We are talking about 160 gigabytes of profile, i have agreed to the archiving and separation from the account of about 130 gigabytes. But it should be possible to view mail from this archive as needed.

The client has Windows 8.1x64 and the latest version of Thunderbirdx32 installed. Hardware Icore 5 3337u and 8 GB of RAM.

You can't have a million emails in an single folder, if that is what is happening. I exaggerate of course, but you get the idea. You probably should have messages archived into yearly or monthly folders. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/archived-messages

As for viewing archives outside of Thunderbird, if you do that then you cannot view them in Thunderbird.
