I have just installed Quantum. At first it looked fine, but when I went to "Options" to change the "Privacy and Security" setting so that Firefox will "Never Remember History", things went wrong: When I go to my homepage http://www.bbc.co.uk/news, the display goes haywire, and images are not downloaded. If I open a new tab, and try to access https://www.google.co.uk, an error message is displayed "Your connection is not secure". If I change the setting back to "Remember History", things are still bizarre. The homepage (BBC News) will now display OK, but I still get the same error message when trying google.co.uk or linkedin.com. Am I doing something incorrectly or is this a genuine bug?

Firefox 42+ has a Tracking Protection feature that is enabled by default in Private Browsing mode. Firefox can show a shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar that some content is blocked by Tracking Protection, click the shield icon for more information.

You can disable this feature in "Options/Preferences -> Privacy" or via the about:privatebrowsing page that get when you open a New Private Window.

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy: "Use Tracking Protection in Private Windows"

Thank you Pkshadow. I followed your instructions and so far so good. I did not have to restore the backups, but I reinstalled the extensions one at a time then tested, just to be sure. I've been using Quantum for over a day now without trouble. Thanks again for your help.

Hello cor-el, Thank you very much for helping. I applied the fix provided by Pkshadow, and did not have to disable the privacy setting. Cheers.
