How to export Firefox log-ins and pws from MAC running Yosemite
On a MAC running Yosemite, how does one export saved log-ins and passwords from Firefox? I know where the files reside and how to make a manual bu. Data is encrypted and I'd like to have a readable file w that data. I do not own or have access to a PC. Suggesting I use the PC only Password Mgr is not an option.

Then you can not if no access to a PC as need other programs to read a compressed java file. Open the passwords and show passwords and take photos or screenshots is your solution.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
respectfully, your english is very poor and no this did not resolve my issue
Sorry you do not happen to like my Canadian English. If for the sake of a comma or 2, too bad. Your problem stays unsolved then.

You can use the Browser Console to export the login data, but there is no way to import login data without using an extension like password exporter in a Firefox version that supports Legacy extensions.
See my replies in in these threads. The first uses the Browser Console.

The second can parse the JSON code by running code in the Web Console if you open the JSON file in a Firefox tab.
- /questions/1077630#answer-767063 How can I "print" the saved passwords list?
Open the file with the JSON logins data in a Firefox tab and run the code in the Web Console. In case the builtin JSON viewer is invoked and the code isn't working then open the Raw tab or prefix the URL with the view-source: protocol to get the raw JSON data.
thanks cor-el, will try this next spot of free time I find
relevant info, presented clearly, that answers my question is always more welcome than useless word salad that ignores my question

Hi, this method doesn't seem to work for me,
Specifically the second method returns:
TypeError: document.body.querySelector(...) is null on line 1
The first method returns this:
ReferenceError: Cc is not defined on line 2
It seems that information around this issue is pretty outdated, althouth I might be wrong.
Here's my platform:
Mac OS X Sierra 1.12.4, intel core i7
FF 57.0.4 (64-bit)
Sounds that you use the Web Console and not the Browser Console.
You are absolutely right... got mixed up, it worked. :) Thank you.
