I have used downthemall app for many years and it no longer operates as you seem to have installed a newer version of mozilla firefox which does not support Downthemall.

I have in the past financially contributed to both Mozolla's annual appeal and the Downthemall inventors.

This is most annoying.

You'll have to wait for the new version of DTA.

'Quantum' is just a name they use for Firefox 57.

If you really don't want to give the alternative add-on a try and are adamant to keep using DownThemAll, then you'll need to do as TyDraniu suggested and wait for the developer to migrate his add-on to Webextensions. In the mean time you could switch to the ESR version of Firefox, which will still get security updates, and that you can download from here :

Bummer  !

Maybe ask Mark (the developer of the add-on) via support email  ?

Oh boy, there may be a little misunderstanding here :

I meant that maybe you could ask the developer via support email ......

You can find a link to his support email under 'More Information' here :

This is nothing FF or Mozilla can do about if the Addon creator doesn't respond or isn't updating their Addon. If I were you keep writing that will get their attention to update their program otherwise tell them you will not use their Addon. Beyond that this is a Addon creator issue and what they do is what they do.

Of course I don't know when you tried to contact them, but I hope that you'll get an answer soon  !
