I'm using Firefox 52.6.0 (32 bit) but also see a Firefox 35.0.1 (x86 en-US) in "Add/Remove Programs"- Can I safely uninstall the 35.0.1version?

I'm using Firefox 52.6.0 (32 bit) on Win XP and need to make more room on my hard drive. I see a version of Firefox described as Firefox 35.0.1 (x86 en-US) in the "Add/Remove Programs" box and in the Programs folder on my C drive.

Is this just a previous version that wasn't uninstalled when Firefox updated or is it something necessary for Firefox 52.6.0 to work?

I have Firefox set to automatically update.

Can I remove the Firefox 35.0.1 safely using "Add/Remove Programs"?

Thanks

More than likely the Windows Registry is showing a phantom entry for that old Firefox 35.0.1 version, which is usual in Windows for some users.

Chances are that Removing that version will uninstall Firefox altogether, as happens all too often. You might want to prepare for that by downloading ESR 52 now before proceeding. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/

Edit: BTW, uninstalling Firefox won't get rid of your Firefox user data or customizations. When you reinstall Firefox ESR 52 everything should be as you left it.
