Desktop notifications tell me I must reset my password for Facebook, yet it works, why the notification?

The desktop notification as I opened Firefox said I had to change the password for Facebook. I opened Facebook with no problem. So where did this notification come from and where has it gone? Is my Firefox hacked?

That could be a scam to get your password. Contact Facebook support and ask about it.

I honestly don’t think it comes from Facebook. I think it has to do with the Firefox add on that does desktop notifications. Anyway to be safe I did contact Facebook but no reply yet. Btw I am also not the only one that got this message. And my Facebook is working just fine without changing passwords.

Which add-on is that? If there is an add-on that needs to connect to your Facebook account, hmm, do you trust...

Could you link to other discussions of the notification and/or post a screenshot of it? This article has tips on capturing screenshots: How do I create a screenshot of my problem? Please cut out or blur any sensitive information in the image before attaching it to your reply.
