Hi since no info came re what extensions you are using or your video card driver information which if corrupt can cause a wide range of issues we have not much to work with. Fyi : extensions take aprox 20megs ram each.

Please list your extensions.

Firefox to Slow :

SAFE MODE

In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:

  • all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
  • default theme is used (no persona)
  • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
  • default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
  • Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
  • hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
  • plugins are not affected
  • preferences are not affected

It is possible that Windows is reserving some network capacity for its own purpose. Windows application created by Microsoft would know how to work around this and get the full capacity. Applications created by others can't do this and will be slower.
