I have printed out the instruction on how the switch from POP to Imap. On the second page there is a section headed delete you POP account. Is it necessary to delete the old Pop account to have the Imap work? Or can my old email address be used as it is, and the mail be sent using the new Imap inbound and outbound settings. Will it work if I just "disable" my Pop account like it states on the first page of the instructions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I guess the real question is by changing my mail from POP3 to IMAP require that I create a brand new email address, or can the old address be used? Again any help would be greatly appreciated. No it does not require a new email address. I have never seen instructions that say you do. Just add the address to Thunderbird as IMAP. It may require you to name it something different from the POP account in Thunderbird but the address will be the same. You can have both the POP and the IMAP setup in Thunderbird at the same time but why would you want to?
