random error messages
I am getting strange error messages. I have had the same setup for a long time and lately, every so often, I can't send a message. I get a message that the outgoing server says I have exceeded my daily limit. I have no daily limit. And I have only sent out 6 messages today anyway. I called Frontier and they said I have no daily limit. Some times I have been able to restart my computer and it will work, but not today. I had been on version 47 but thought maybe I should update so am now on 52.8 and restarted the computer twice. I restarted the modem and router. . . and still can't send. I don't know enough about the inner workings of email, but somebody somewhere is sending the wrong message that Thunderbird is picking up on.

One way to exceed your daily limit on some SMTP servers is to not sign into the server to send mail.
My guess is if you look in account settings at the outgoing server (SMTP) entry in the list that you will have more than one configured and the dud is sometimes being used.
I only have one outgoing server setup, but that was some great knowledge. Good thinking. I think it's something wierd happening when I start up my computer and usually restarting it fixes it, but that time it didn't. It has been working OK since then. . . But, I hate leaving it to chance. Thanks again. At least you gave me a whole new place to think about.
